About Us

Collective intelligence for
business in transition.

The forces reshaping our world, AI, climate, nature, are too complex for any strategy to solve on its own.
We believe everyone in an organisation has a role to play in navigating them.
Our job is to unlock that potential.

OUR MISSION

We exist to turn complexity into action

Organisations are being asked to make bigger decisions, faster, on subjects their people do not yet share a language for. AI is the newest and sharpest example: boards are committing to strategies they have not had the chance to understand. Climate, nature and resources pose the same challenge one level down, across every team.

At DecarbonEaser, we help organisations cut through that complexity, get their people genuinely on board, and build the internal momentum to act. We do it through immersive, science-based sessions that align understanding from the C-suite to the front line, and we do it with people in the room together, because that is where real understanding is built.

OUR FOUNDER & NETWORK

Meet Jim Lescop and the DecarbonEaser network

Five years ago, Jim Lescop made a conscious and radical decision to step away from business-as-usual.

With his children in mind and the growing urgency of climate, nature and technological transitions, it became impossible to separate what he knew from how he acted. After more than 20 years working inside organisations across Europe and Australia, in learning and development and change management, he had seen first-hand why change so often stalls. The issue was rarely a lack of commitment. It was that complex issues were handled through reports, strategies and fragmented initiatives, while the people expected to act were never meaningfully brought into the conversation.

So he built DecarbonEaser to do the opposite: to put people in the room, together, and leverage collective intelligence to build the shared understanding that turns complexity into decisions.

Today that means a network of expert facilitators who combine world-class workshop methods with real business experience, so change happens from within rather than being delivered from outside. It also means strong delivery partnerships. DecarbonEaser is the global delivery partner for the AI Fresco, working with Nicolas Blanchon of Galances Conseil, co-founder of the AI Fresco in France, to bring board-level AI alignment to organisations internationally.

Beyond corporate engagement

Every organisation has a transition to navigate

Our work is predominantly with corporates and the private sector, but the challenges we help with belong to everyone, and so do we. We work with local councils, including Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, with universities and schools, with NGOs and state agencies, and with smaller organisations that need to engage on sustainability and AI but rarely have the resources to.

Wherever people need to understand what is changing and decide what to do about it, the method is the same. The context, and the terms, are what we adapt.

OUR MODEL

A business built to give back

Most of the sessions we deliver were created by non-profits:
Climate Fresk, the Fresk-style workshops, the pitch formats and others exist because mission-driven organisations built them and gave them to the world. We do not simply use that work. Every time we deliver a session commercially, we pay a share of the fee back to the non-profit behind it, so they can keep training new facilitators, engaging communities and running the events that keep the movement alive.

We charge those who can, so we can reach those who cannot

Corporate work is charged at our full rate. That is what allows us to work with councils, universities and NGOs at heavily reduced rates, to deliver in schools often for free, and to run free community sessions where our facilitators live, for the groups who most need to engage and least often get the chance. When a business works with us, it is not only building its own capability. It is helping fund access for others.

HOW CHANGE ACTUALLY HAPPENS

You don’t change in a day.
You change by staying engaged.

A single workshop does not change a culture, and we would never claim it does. Real change comes from engaging over time, across many subjects, with different people, learning what works and, just as importantly, what does not. It is a journey, not an event.

That is why we do not only run sessions. We train people to become facilitators, and in doing so they join a community: people committed to having an impact, who share information, events, sources, reflections and hard-won lessons. Facilitators get inspired before they go on to inspire others. They challenge the status quo together, and they keep each other going.

This is what building a culture really takes: not one brilliant session, but communities of practice that sustain understanding and communities of people who inspire and challenge one another over time. Every session we run is designed to contribute to that, to be a step on the journey rather than the whole of it.

OUR APPROACH

A different kind of partner

Co-created

We tailor every experience to your context, sector and goals. No two rollouts are identical.

Science-backed

Our sessions are grounded in authoritative sources, from the IPCC and IPBES to peer-reviewed work on AI and digital impact.

People-powered

Change only happens when people understand a problem and own it. We build that understanding through collective intelligence, not lectures.
